Lucknow: Positive signs of improvement have emerged in the nutritional status of children in Uttar Pradesh. According to data available on the Nutrition Tracker at Anganwadi centers, February 2026 recorded a decline of about 1.21% in stunting compared to January 2026.

Additionally, there was an improvement of around 0.12% among children in the severely malnourished category and about 0.61% among underweight children. This indicates that the Yogi government is serious about implementing its schemes and is not compromising on children’s health.

Children’s nutritional status is being regularly monitored through the Nutrition Tracker. At Anganwadi centers, the height, weight, and age of children up to six years are assessed to determine their nutritional status. In February, a large-scale assessment drive was conducted across the state, under which more than 1.43 crore children were examined.

The state is continuously monitoring children’s nutritional status through digital platforms like the Nutrition Tracker. This has made data collection and analysis more accurate and transparent. Regular assessments and timely data updates by Anganwadi workers are enabling early identification of malnutrition and necessary interventions.

Officials believe that with continued monitoring and effective implementation of schemes, further improvements in nutrition indicators can be expected in the coming period.
